Grade 316 / 316L
Molybdenum-bearing premium grade for marine, chemical and pharmaceutical service.
Material Overview
Cr-Ni-Mo Austenitic
316 (and 316L) introduces 2-3% molybdenum to the 18-10 austenitic chemistry, dramatically improving resistance to chlorides, pitting, and crevice corrosion. It is the default choice for marine atmospheres, chemical processing, and pharma manufacturing where product purity is critical.
