Grade 304 / 304L
The world's most versatile food-grade austenitic stainless steel.
Material Overview
Cr-Ni Austenitic
304 (and its low-carbon variant 304L) is the workhorse of the stainless steel industry. With 18% chromium and 8% nickel, it offers excellent corrosion resistance across a wide pH range, outstanding formability, and full weldability. 304L's reduced carbon prevents sensitisation in welded fabrications.
